Futuristic Kitchen

When I see my cellphone, it’s a sliding one, I imagine if ever I could slide up my table or bed up to the wall or ceiling to get some extra usable floor space. Before now, I considered my imagination nothing but valueless fantasy, but The Electrolux Alinea has changed my mind. This handy kitchen concept enables the user to slide up the entire kitchen to the ceiling, creating valuable space which is expecting to be the most commonly encountered constrain of living in 2050. This innovative concept, being made of plastics and amorphous silicon, can be used anywhere by adopting the environment and presenting surfaces and kitchen appliances according to the users needs. Moreover, you will also be able to dock the kitchen into a port of the advanced polymers made ceiling to recharge and refresh its water.
Designer : Patrick Short

advantages:

  • its useful for those who have house with a small space.
  • save space of kitchen
  • can be fold

    barriers:
    • it is expensive
    • cannot hold for heavy stuff

    ::UVO?? urban vehicular ovalon::

    For the future, it seems that single passenger mobility unit is becoming more and more popular idea. Designed by Alexei Mikhailov, UVO (Urban Vehicular Ovalon) provides the needs of urban vehicle in more and more crowded urban environment. This vehicle has a unique oval form with 2 parallel axis that geometrically is an all-rounded balanced enclosed body, like an egg. It looks stylish, futuristic, compact, and inviting. It features drive link technology that allows a UVO vehicle to synchronize its formation with other UVO vehicles using proximity radar technology while driving. This way, UVO vehicles will move along the same path without using up all of the road lane and still have the ability to leave the cluster at any time. Hopefully that this unique feature of UVO can provide efficient driving dynamics which finally could reduce traffic and congestion.

    “The design of the vehicle, is defined as a single passenger mobility unit, for inner city megapolis commute for the year 2021. UVO uses an advanced fuel cell technology, with two efficient electric motors in its wheels. The magnets in the motors, act as stabilizing gyroscopes in maintaining the vehicle up right, once in movement and braking. The wireless energy transformers are rechargeable parking hot-spots for UVO vehicles across the city. They re-charge the vehicles wirelessly using electromagnetic induction technology whilst the vehicle is parked. Partnered with holographic head up display projection, the interior is the control center of the new driving experience of 2021. The controls of the vehicle consist of motion sensitive arm holsters, these units are responsible for maneuvering and accelerating the vehicle with ability to stop at the touch of a motion. Driving a UVO, is ever more alluring and entertaining for young and elderly generation of tomorrow.”

    ::drymate presskit:a more ecological way to dry your cloth::

    We all know how much energy and water a washing machine consumes nowadays and on top of that if you also have a separate clothes dryer, your bills would go sky high. Nico Kläber designed a new, more innovative, and especially astonishingly beautiful dryer, that is meant to dry your clothes in an unique environmentally friendly way. Drymate, as the designer named its creation, is a vacuum clothes dryer, that through its new vacuum technology, dries clothes at lower temperatures and therefore saves energy and conserves clothing. Its shallow compartment, the round shapes and transparencies make the casing appear open and pleasant. The Drymate fits perfectly into living spaces, unlike the conventional square-edged tumble dryers. Now with Nico’s design, there is a tumble dryer that the user can fill and empty while standing upright.
    Some of the crucial factors of this design are the slightly tilted position, 9 degrees to be exact, and the big opening of the drum.
    In more technical terms, every enclosed space with an air pressure lower than in our environment is already a vacuum and in every vacuum, there are special physical conditions as a result of the lower amount of material used. The Drymate uses one of these special conditions and gives it the possibility to evaporate water at temperatures lower than 100°C. The lower the air pressure the lower the temperature that is necessary to evaporate water. It is far more better to create a minor under-pressure, than to heat up your wet laundry to 100°C. Therefore, Drymate, can achieve a much better energy efficiency than conventional tumble dryers.

    The Future of Electric Cars

    Electric cars are a promising, emerging form of transportation, as they release no emissions and do not require traditional fuel. While electric vehicles have been around for over one hundred years, they are not widespread or hugely popular due to their limitations. Currently, the majority of electric cars have low top speeds and can only travel a short distance before needing charging. There are a few models that can reach speeds of over one hundred miles per hour and travel two hundred miles before needing to recharge. As innovation continues in this field, it is hoped that electric vehicles will reach the capabilities that traditional gas-powered vehicles have.

    As opposed to an internal combustion engine, electric cars use electric motors powered by rechargeable batteries. The recharge process involves plugging in the car to an outlet and waiting between a few hours to overnight for the car to completely “fuel.” Since electricity is so much cheaper than gas, the approximate cost would work out to just a few cents per mile.

    Some advanced electric models have already been released, such as the Tesla Roadster. It is an electric sports car that can travel almost two hundred fifty miles on a single charge, reach speeds of one hundred thirty five miles per hour, and accelerate from zero to sixty in about four seconds. The Roadster is a perfect example of how effective and practical electrical cars can become, with the proper research and dedication. There is still a long way to go, but as technology evolves, electric cars will improve in efficiency and perhaps one day eliminate the need for gas powered vehicles.

    ::bulbo light bag::

    Have you ever been in a situation when you need to look and dig for something in your bag in the dark? You can use your mobile phone for light, but that means you can only use one hand to dig while the other holds the mobile phone. Bulbo, a ribbon with LEDs could solve your problem. This device is an add-on module that could fit in any bag you have. It features silicon bulb on one side and a clip that allows you to attach it to any bag. This ribbon light generates its own energy for the light. As you can see in the picture, there’s a sphere that will levitate outside the bag to harness kinetic energy for the battery. Finding stuff inside your bag in the dark won’t be a problem anymore.

    Awesome Future Concept Digital Roll Laptops

    Though many cool designs have been offered for the laptops of the future but digital roll is really awesome and unique concept designed by Hao Hua. D Roll Laptop can be considers as “next generation laptop design,” as it does away with the book-like form factor in favor of one mimicking an artist’s scroll. Whether or not something like this will even be possible in the near future seems to matter less when you look at how much effort Hua put in the design.

    Though it’s just a concept but the design is inspiring and would definitely catch the eyes of other designers wishing to create a better-looking and practical laptop. If this hits the market, it would be swept off the shelves in no time.
